Recently the 2012 impact factor of the Journal of Hepatology has been released (June 19, 2013) and we are very pleased to announce that it obtained an impact factor of 9.858. With this impact factor, the official journal of EASL is ranked number 4 in the ISI category (outside of reviews journals )"Gastroenterology and Hepatology" (source: Thomson® Scientific) and number 2 in the field of Hepatology.  This is the highest Impact factor ever reached for the Journal.

According to EASL policy, an entirely new Editorial Team is assembled every five years. An Editorial Office was established in Geneva in 2009 and took over management of manuscripts on September 15, 2009.

Throughout 2010, the Journal of Hepatology saw many changes; new sections such as International Hepatology presenting short commentaries on recent papers of interest from other journals in the field of hepatology appeared, every issue now contains a Focus page dedicated to highlighting the most salient articles within each issue, and in addition to content, the Journal of Hepatology also has a new design, with improved graphics and images.

The Journal is published on a monthly basis by Elsevier for EASL and is also available online via the EASL Members' zone.
