Registry Grants

As a major European Association dedicated to the liver and liver disease, EASL promotes research and education through the sharing of research findings in Hepatology. Considering the difficulties faced by researchers in our field, the EASL Governing Board has decided to create the EASL Registry Data Collection Grant.

Funding provided by EASL will help to organise consortia groups dedicated to data gathering with specific focus on Liver Disease. A minimum of €150,000 will be awarded to support one or more consortia groups.

Application guidelines

  • Go to the online application platform and complete the fields as requested. You should use no more than 3 pages when uploading documents (recommended font Arial 10)
  • Describe the area of hepatology to be addressed, and why it has been selected
  • Outline how the registry project will be set up, including collaborations, and recruitment
  • Include a detailed description of group/consortia set-up to support the project, referring to relevant track record within the area of interest or similar projects
  • Present the IT system or software to be used to collect, record, update data
  • Evaluate and justify the length of the project, and identify the key milestones
  • Outline the key questions which the registry will answer
  • Explain how the research outputs will be used
  • Outline the stages when the data will be shared with EASL Governing Board
  • Outline and justify the costs requested
  • Priority will be given to strong collaborative groups/projects without alternative or prior funding

  • Applicants are notified by mid-March the following year
  • Successful applicants are requested to attend The International Liver Congress™, during which awardees are announced
  • The funded registry project should begin by June of the awarded year

Conditions

  • Applications should be made in English
  • The applicant must be a registered EASL member
  • The principal applicant should hold a permanent position within their institution
  • The principal applicant should be working in a European institution
  • There will be no restriction on the principal applicant's age or nationality
  • There will be no restriction on resubmitted applications
  • There will be no restriction on renewal applications
