EASL welcomes the interest of the media in matters relating to hepatology and is happy to provide assistance to journalists who wish to attend EASL events.

The International Liver CongressTM

The International Liver Congress™ ,also known as ILC, is the annual EASL meeting, and the flagship event in EASL’s educational calendar. Held every year in April, the ILC has become the most influential and major congress of its kind.

ILC is attended by scientific and medical experts from a broad range of fields including hepatology, gastroenterology, internal medicine, cell biology, transplant surgery, infectious diseases, microbiology and virology, pharmacology, pathology and radiology and imaging who all come together from around the world to learn about the latest in liver research. Specialists share recent data, present studies and findings, and discuss the hottest topics in liver disease. The annual congress attracts approximately 10,000 delegates and 250 media representatives from all over the world, making this a truly international networking opportunity.

Proof of media credentials will be required during both the online and onsite registration process. Please note that business cards are NOT acceptable as a form of media credential. Media must not publish coverage of any kind on the data contained in either the late breaker abstracts or any of the abstracts to be highlighted during The International Liver CongressTM  official Press Office activities or in official Press Office materials until the time mentioned on the ILC website on the day of the abstract presentation.

Filming, photography and audio recording are allowed at EASL events but permission must be sought in advance from the EASL press office.

The EASL press office will approve requests on a case-by-case basis. Successful requests will receive a press pass and confirmation letter for a specific time and location.
