Tomorrow patients and healthcare professionals around the world will celebrate World Digestive Health Day (WDHD) to show their respect for and raise awareness of the many patients who suffer from liver diseases and other diseases in- and outside the digestive system.
To this end, EASL is supporting the efforts of United European Gastroenterology (UEG) and the European Society of Neurogastroenterology and Motility (ESNM), who produced a video visible on YouTube to educate the general population about the importance of maintaining a healthy gut and hence, prevent liver cancer and many other diseases.
Please view the video and share it via your social media networks.
Launched in 2005 by the World Gastroenterology Organisation (WGO), the WDHD is held each year to raise awareness of different health issues related to the gastrointestinal tract. The theme for this year's edition is “Gut Microbes - Importance in Health and Disease".
High consumption of red and processed meat linked to non-alcoholic fatty liver disease and insulin resistance
Gastrointestinal hormone measurably improved symptoms of non-alcoholic fatty liver disease
