Perspectives – Art, Liver Diseases and Me is a unique project that saw patients affected by Hepatitis C and artists from countries all over the world come together to express the feelings and sentiment of living with a liver disease into an artistic expression.
As you’ll see onsite at the exhibition, these pieces really help you get a feeling for and understand the impact of the disease, and they depict “moments of meaning” for the patients involved. EASL – The Home of Hepatology – took ownership of the Perspectives Art Gallery in 2015, as we wanted to afford our members and delegates at The International Liver Congress™ and hepatology-related events around the world, the chance to garner an insight into living with liver disease and generate discussion by highlighting the plight of the patient. EASL has been delighted to collaborate with other prestigious associations such as ELPA and the WHA on this project, and by sending the exhibition around the world from San Francisco to Tokyo and on to Barcelona, we hope that you will have benefited from this exhibition as much as we have from hosting it.
In fact, EASL has decided to auction off the different pieces to ensure that the benefits from this project will go back to the liver community – so do stop by the Exhibition held during The International Liver Congress™ 2016 in Barcelona and consider purchasing a piece!
