Today, Feb 4, is World Cancer Day! And to mark this occasion the International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC) have published a press release calling for more prevention measures, including on alcohol and consumption of sugary beverages. The importance of hepatitis B vaccination programmes as a means of preventing liver cancer in developing countries is also highlighted. It is clear that the "global battle against cancer won't be won with treatment alone. Effective prevention measures are urgently needed to prevent a cancer crisis!"
