Following a meeting held at the European Parliament in November 2011, and hosted by Thomas Ulmer MEP and Stephen Hughes MEP, a document outlining policy recommendations which encourage the appropriate management of viral hepatitis was produced. The document outlines the specific policy measures required to ensure earlier detection of viral hepatitis, cirrhosis and liver cancer in order to increase the chances for better health outcomes.
