Education is a priority for EASL and the association provides educational opportunities at every level from clinical fellow to professor.

Every year, EASL hosts:

  • The International Liver Congress™, the annual meeting of the association, uniting over 10,000 liver experts
  • 1 EASL Special Conference with sponsorship opportunities for those interested in Hepatology
  • Up to 3 EASL Monothematic Conferences
  • 3 Schools of Hepatology (1 basic science and 2 clinical courses) dedicated to young investigators
  • Every other year, 1 HCC Summit combining both basic science and clinical research
  • A series of ‘Best of EASL’ events around the globe
  • 1 EASL Masterclass dedicated to young investigators
  • EASL also endorses other liver related conferences, and sponsors events in the field.

THE INTERNATIONAL LIVER CONGRESS™

ILC is EASL's flagship event. It gathers up to 11,000 liver experts each year and features a high-calibre, multi-disciplinary scientific programme presenting groundbreaking information and in-depth examination of essential liver related topics. The ILC takes place every April in major European cities with excellent travel connections from all continents.

EASL SCHOOLS OF HEPATOLOGY

Application to the clinical and basic Schools of Hepatology is free and priority is given to young fellows that are active EASL members.

The EASL Schools contribute to the training of the next generation of hepatologists and are aimed at young investigators enrolled in hepatologyoriented departments or more experienced clinicians who want to learn about the latest trends in hepatology.

EASL MASTERCLASS

This 2-day event offers a rich blend of scientific sessions, special lectures, workshops and case-based discussions specifically dedicated to young investigators.

The mix of scientific and professional topics is designed to meet the needs of young investigators and to enhance careers in hepatology.

NEXT MASTERCLASS EVENTS

CME ACCREDITATION

EASL applies for accreditation from the European Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (EACCME) for all its educational activities.

The EACCME is an institution of the European Union of Medical Specialists (UEMS) and EACCME credits are recognized by the American Medical Association towards the Physician's Recognition Award (PRA).
