The Liver is Life

The article by Professor Dominique Valla published in 'The Parliament Magazine', Policy, Politics and People, Issue 289, shows that contrary to common belief, liver disease is not always a self inflicted disease. It is caused by a conjunction of several conditions, which have increased in epidemic proportions over the last decades and act in a cooperative manner to damage the liver, progressively and relentlessly such as excess weight (not obese), alcohol consumption (even if regular), viral hepatitis and ageing.
