On 14-15 June, the Innovative Medicines Initiative (IMI) organised its first stakeholder forum in Brussels, welcoming industry representatives, regulators, policy makers, scientific experts, patient representatives and science leaders. IMI discussed with the stakeholders the IMI projects, the IMI research agenda and the IMI intellectual property policy. Speakers outlined the indicative call topics for the third IMI call for proposals, which is expected to be launched in October 2010. The call topics include early prediction of drug induced liver injury, development of personalised medicines in diabetes, and fostering a broader understanding of pharmaceutical R&D in the broader public. A workshop was also held on the topic of diabetes and lung disease.
