On September 28, the European Commission launched a call for proposals on the action ‘Researchers Night’ under the 2011 Work Programme ‘People’ of the Seventh Framework Programme for Research (FP7). The Researchers Night action aims to bring researchers closer to the public at large, so enhancing their role in society. The Researchers Night will take place on September 23, 2011, and aims to be an occasion for a European wide public and media event for the promotion of research careers. Activities organised will have to focus on the public at large, and be organised with researchers being actively involved and directly in contact with the public.
