On 27 November 2009, the Innovative Medicines Initiative (IMI) officially launched its second call for proposals inviting research consortia to submit proposals for nine scientific topics amongst which;

• Imaging biomarkers for anticancer drug development
• New tools for target validation to improve drug efficacy
  
• Molecular biomarkers
• Translational research in chronic immune-mediated disease
• Drug/disease modeling

The deadline for the submission of expressions of interest is 8 February 2010.
