Short-term Training Fellowship

Dame Sheila Sherlock EASL Fellowship Programme

Open to all registered EASL members, aiming to enhance the mobility of investigators within different European institutions through actively promoting scientific exchange among research units in Hepatology.

EASL offers a total yearly grant of 24,000€ (12 x 2,000€ per month). This amount is divided between the total number of successful awardees, according to the length of fellowships requested by the applicants. The maximum length of each fellowship must not exceed 3 months. EASL offers two periods for short-term fellowship applications during the year.


Application for the Short-term Training Fellowships is open from:

January 15 - March 15
July 15 - September 15


Application:

  • Applications are reviewed by external experts nominated by the EASL Scientific Committee and members of the EASL Scientific Committee
  • Applicants are notified within 2 months of the application deadline
  • The fellowship should begin at the latest by the end of the year of the awarded grant

Conditions:

  • The applicant must be a registered EASL member
  • The applicant must not hold a permanent position
  • The home institution shall be European
  • No more than 1 application per hosting and home department will be considered
  • The head of the department of the home institution shall be an EASL member
  • There will be no restriction on the applicant's nationality

  • 2 reference letters
  • Letter of support from the hosting institution
  • Structured application form*
