Post-doc Research Fellowship

Dame Sheila Sherlock EASL Fellowship Programme

Open to all registered EASL members, aiming to enhance the mobility of investigators within different European institutions and actively promote scientific exchange among research units in Hepatology.

Up to 3 Post-Doc research fellowships of 40,000 EUROS are awarded each year. Each fellowship is granted for a period of 1 year. Application form and conditions can be downloaded below.


Application for the Post-doc Research Fellowship are open between September 30 and November 30, 2012


Application:

  • Applications are reviewed by external experts nominated by the EASL Scientific Committee and members of the EASL Scientific Committee.
  • Applicants are notified by February 15.
  • Successful applicants are requested to attend the EASL International Liver CongressTM during which the winners are announced.
  • Fellowship should begin at the latest by the end of the year of the awarded grant.
  • Requests for renewal, for an additional year, may be made no later than 2 months before the termination of the fellowship, pending a progress report accompanied by a letter from the tutor detailing the evolution of the project. The EASL Scientific Committee may renew the fellowship further to the acceptance of the report.

Conditions:

  • Applicant must be a registered EASL member.
  • Applicant must not hold a permanent position.
  • Hosting institution shall be in a different European country from the home institution
  • Hosting institution has to be European.
  • No more than 1 application per hosting and home department will be considered.
  • Head of the hosting research unit shall be an EASL member.
  • No restriction on the applicant's nationality.

  • a detailed CV
  • 2 reference letters
  • a letter of support from the hosting institution
  • the structured application form* containing:
    • personal details
    • project title
    • project summary
    • background
    • rationale
    • materials and methods
    • references
