Endorsed and Sponsored events

The European Association for the Study of the Liver (EASL) receives many requests each year from other organisations asking EASL to sponsor or endorse their activities. This page details the conditions and policy under which the EASL name and logo can be used and under which EASL will agree to sponsor or endorse an event and offer financial support.
Endorsed events

Application and review process
- All endorsed event proposals should be addressed to the EASL Office using the online form here below. No decision will be taken by the EASL Governing Board without a final programme (detailing topics, speakers and schedule) and a list of sponsors. All documents are to be submitted exclusively in English.
- Applications for endorsement are reviewed by the EASL Governing Board
- Applicants will be notified by March 31 or September 30 as to whether their event will be endorsed by EASL or not,
Conditions
- The event content should be focused on the liver and liver disorders
- The scientific value of the event should be evident, as reflected by the selection and status of the speakers, and their expertise in the field
- The speakers should be from different countries and some must be EASL members
- The event must be conducted in English
- The event can be held in any location or country
- The event can be proposed by anyone with an interest in the liver
- The event cannot be organised or owned solely by the industry (it should be multi-sponsored)
- EASL will not provide any financial support to the event
- EASL limits its involvement to the acknowledgement of the scientific value of the event
- The EASL Governing Board will not be involved in the creation or organisation of the event
- The proposed event should not compete with any other EASL activities
Organisers of the endorsed event agree to
- Incorporate the “EASL Endorsed Event” logo on the communication tools related to the event and to ensure that EASL is mentioned on their webpage
- Display EASL society leaflets and meeting activities brochures during the endorsed event
- Provide a complimentary stand/booth to EASL onsite at the endorsed event
- Provide the EASL Office with:
- A high resolution logo/image that can be used to illustrate the endorsed event
- Additional information regarding the endorsed event, such as a preliminary programme, event brochure, event website URL and other complementary details
Use of EASL name and logo:
- The association's insignia (logo) and name is a registered trademark and the property of EASL. They cannot be used in any way, for any purpose or at any time (including but not limited to announcements, invitations, emails, Web publications, etc.) without the expressed written permission of EASL.
- The “EASL Endorsed Event” logo is granted only for use on official documents related directly to the endorsement and the endorsed event
- The insignia can only be used as designated and must be approved by EASL. Any use of the EASL brand name should be approved by the EASL Office. A copy or sample of any such material produced by affiliate groups for public relations or public information must be sent to the EASL Office for informational purposes.

All documents are to be submitted exclusively in English.

- The event must be proposed by EASL members
- The event cannot be organised or owned solely by the industry (it should be multi-sponsored and the organisers should explain what kind of support they already get)
- The financial support and advice from EASL varies according to the course content and impact expected
- The amount of the financial support will be decided by the Governing Board according to the organizers' request and provisional budget they provided to EASL
- The EASL Governing Board must be involved in the development of the event (scientific programme content and objectives)
- The proposed event should not compete with any other EASL activities
- No national association initiative will be sponsored by EASL
Organisers of the sponsored event agree to
- Incorporate the “EASL Sponsored Event” logo on all communication tools related to the event and will ensure that EASL is mentioned on their webpage
- Display EASL society leaflets and meeting activities brochures onsite during the sponsored event
- Provide EASL with a final report and complete budget of the sponsored event. In the case where the meeting generates revenue, the EASL Office will request a reimbursement of the sponsorship funding provided by EASL.
- Provide a complimentary stand/booth to EASL onsite during the sponsored event
- Provide the EASL Office with:
