The first European Awareness Week on Alcohol Related Harm is being held on the week of 13th May in Brussels. The aim of the week is to raise awareness among EU policy makers of the harms caused by alcohol and the need for an integrated approach to tackle them.
The European Association for the Study of the Liver (EASL) has joined other members of the European Chronic Disease Alliance (ECDA) in signing an Open Letter to President Barroso. The letter expresses ECDA’s concern over the lack of political will from the leadership of the European Union with regards to chronic diseases.
